Kimmy went to yoga teacher training never intending to teach. Yoga training was a gateway to process grief. After 13 years of being successful in the corporate world, she realized this was not her path. It was not until she decided to deepen her own practice that she discovered holistic methods to healing the self. She loves and lives to teach yoga now, especially folks new and curious about the practice. It brings incredible happiness to Kimmy, to watch a person transition from thinking a pose is not possible to engaging the correct muscles and easily finding the form.
The therapy of yoga is a practical accessible way to unite the mind and the body. And by connecting to our body, we can restore joy, fåçind ease and inner strength.
Kimmy’s classes are alignment based hatha flow with a focus on engaged muscular form. Kimmy likes how each pose can encourage playfulness and confidence. In her classes, yogi’s laugh, have fun and leave feeling empowered.
Kimmy is an anatomy geek! She has spent her time learning the body from the inside out. Her education includes a human dissection workshop with Gil Hedley, PhD., Pelvic Floor teacher training with Leslie Howard, specific workshops around the hips, knees and feet with physical therapist, Harvey Duetch and holds a teaching certificate in Therapeutic Yoga.
Kimmy has a tremendous amount of gratitude to her mentors Darcy Lyon and Dina Amsterdam who informed the way she teaches. Kimmy is committed to discovering the basic ground of who we are, which is reconnecting to the body. Kimmy believes by deepening the connection to the body we can discover a real sense of power, confidence and pure joy.
